New Look at Coach
Do you remember the time in high school when everybody had some kind of moderately priced Coach item?! Usually it was a small pouchette in monogrammed fabric. Sometimes girls, or rather, the girls’ parents, splurged on a leather item with those giant buckles. If one really wanted to blend in with the masses at prep school, it was usually paired with Tiffany’s Elsa Peretti silver open heart, Patagonia fleece, Seven jeans, and JCrew clogs (yes clogs! Even before the Chanel SS10 barnyard menage-a-trois collection!) Omg omg flashbacks of nostalgia!
Since then I have become older and inevitably moved on to more dangerously priced items. (Handbags from Chanel, Bottega, and Dior rarely cost under 2k!) Forgotten is the high school standby, mostly because in the last few years I have not seen any spectacular designs that I coveted. They continued to produced items which were inoffensive and forgettable as ever, complete with a brand image that says something like “I like suburbia, drive an SUV, and attend swing parties.”
The latest collection, however, totally turned me around.
While home over Christmas, I stumbled into the store and was instantly drawn to this little bucket bag. Sooooo cute! I love the modern take on this retro item. The convertible strap is both practical and playful (one of the many reasons I love Chanel double-chains so much.) The putty color is perfect for both winter and summer… and everything in between! As always, the leather and quality is impeccable with Coach. I received the bag as a Christmas prezzie (thank you!) I am tres tres heureux and can be seen bopping around Hong Kong with it. ^^
Hello 2010!
Wishing you a lovely year ahead! Am now back in HK. So warm here. Walked out with a miniskirt and 3/4 sleeve blazer this morning. Oh how I love climate!
Had the most wonderful holiday with my family. Cooked a new year’s dinner for them (the soup was a bit too spicy, but the cakes were a hit!) Did not stay up until midnight however, as I have been consistently passing out around 8pm. (I’m *so* cool! Hahaha.)
